Situational Interview

Q: What is a situational interview?

A:

A situational interview utilizes hypothetical events in the form of a question. Candidates are asked how they would react if they encountered that event. This type of interview is most often used with college graduates who do not have as much past work experience.

The type of questions that typify the situational interview are generally scenarios in which you are asked what you would do if confronted by a specific situation. Some people are prepared for these questions, and will generally ask the interviewer if these questions relate to real events at the organization.
