Advertisements are one of the most common but, least
effective sources for recruiting. The success of advertising
can be improved by targeting job specific publications
rather than the local newspaper. Some alternative recruiting
sources include: attending local trade association
meetings and conferences, developing relationships
with local high schools and colleges, using personal
networks of family and friends, attending local job
fairs, working with outside placement agencies, and
having in-house job fairs. The Internet is quickly
maturing as another cost effective way to source qualified
applicants.
