Recurrent training is training that is to be reviewed
in a specific time frame. It is not dependent on the
trainees’ abilities or current knowledge level.
It is generally calendar based in some way.
For instance, especially in certain
industries like healthcare and aviation where human
safety is involved, organizations will institute a policy
of recurrent training in order to keep employee skill
abilities at a maximum level. This kind of training is
also called recurrent vocational training.
Recurrent employee training is often found in middle
management ranks of many organizations as well.
Among
the most common instances of recurrent training is
CPR training.
Corporate recurrent training is accomplished
in different settings. It can be outsourced to a
dedicated classroom or done by a visiting instructor
or a performed
by instructors from a corporate training and organizational
development department.
