The American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) is the voluntary federation of various United States unions. The primary functions of the AFL-CIO are to provide legislative and political representation, public relations for the union movement, coordination and resolution of disputes between affiliated unions.
