Q: Does the FLSA limit the number of hours that employees can work in a day or week?

The act does not limit the number of hours in a day or the number of days in a week that an employee may be required or scheduled to work, including overtime hours. However, individual states may have limits; in these instances, the higher standard (the requirement that derives the greatest benefit to the employee) applies.
